Dr. Ryan and his team have strived to provide superb care over the decades. Their clinic has been entrusted with family healthcare through multiple generations in the community, with the goal of providing state-of-the-art healthcare, integrating science with the art of medicine and promoting a body-mind-spirit dynamic that empowers the patient in a respectful, personalized, and friendly partnership. INITIAL APPOINTMENT PROCEDURE

Please have your current insurance information ready (insurance company and member/subscriber ID) then call us.  (Next year we will use the 619.222.2355 # so keep that # and in the interim you can still connect to us through that #.)  If you provide us with an E-mail address that you use, we will send you an E-mail link to register for the patient portal.  This allows you to complete the Intake Forms in advance, send us messages with attachments, view test results, etc.  If you do not fill out the forms in advance then please arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment for Check In.  If you fill out your forms ahead of time, then you may arrive just 5 minutes prior to your appointment for Check In.

PRESCRIPTIONS

I do not prescribe controlled substances, including amphetamines, opioids, sedative hypnotics, benzodiazepines, or testosterone.  I am willing to refill your Rx temporarily while you await referral to a specialist unless you choose to wean down in conjunction with alternatives.  Exceptions to this are terminal illness or fracture.  My emphasis in treatment of underlying disorders is upon lifestyle optimization and behavior modification with non-controlled medications.  As of 1 January 2025, physicians are required to discuss opioid risk prior to dispensing.

HMO PCP TRANSFER/REFERRALS

The official Primary Care Provider transfer was planned for 1 Jan 2025. However, we are still waiting on the United Healthcare HMO PCP transfer.  In the interim, we can still evaluate, treat, order labs and imaging, and refer (referrals are a couple of days slower due to a temporary lack of direct online access).  If you have seen a specialist within the past year, you can SELF-REFER without a referral from us.

MEDICAL RECORDS​

Although we are in the same building, the clinic has a different name: Sun Health Medical Clinic, Inc. If you want me to review Dr. Ryan's chart, your authorization is required (we have a form ready for you to initial and sign).

STAFF​

Dr. Ryan's staff, Michelle (reception), is still here to support your continuity of health advocacy.  My Medical Assistant, Danny, is also the Office Manager and checks Vital Signs and coordinates referrals.
